NaNoWriMo VS. ME

NaNoWriMo

NaNoWriMo is kicking my a$$.

I really thought 50,000 words in one month was pretty doable for me. However, it’s the 28th, and I have 37 pages and only 14,627 words. Sorry November. Maybe next year.

If you’ve attempted NaNoWriMo too, and you haven’t accomplished the word count yet you had in mind, don’t cry. The important thing is that you’re writing.

November is a terrible month for NaNoWriMo. I’ve done it before, having hit my 50K mark, but I’m not going to this time around. Don’t focus on not reaching 50K by the end of the month. If you’ve got quality writing going on, it beats 50K words of pure gibberish.

Yep, just get in the habit of writing daily (or close to it, anyhow), the words will come. But we sometimes have to force ourselves to perch our little behinds in that chair and write! Keep doing it! Write on!

Yes that’s true. If you don’t sit down and try to write, the words will never come. It’s as much of a habit as it is a passion. Finding the happy median that works for the individual is key.
